In addition, the certification confirms our strict compliance with current legislation, demonstrating our company's commitment at all levels and further consolidates Bankia's status as one of the leading technology firms in Spain.
The ISO 27001 Standard
The certificates specifies the necessary requirements to establish, implement, maintain and improve an Information Security Management System (ISMS) in accordance with the well-known "Deming Cycle": PDCA, which stands for Plan, Do, Check, Act. It is in line with the best practices laid out in ISO/IEC 17799 (now ISO/IEC 27002) and it can trace its origin back to the overhaul of British Standard BS 7799-2:2002. Similarly, it establishes the criteria whereby certified auditors verify existing security systems.
Internationally recognised and certifiable, the ISO 27001 on Information Security Management Systems is designed to guarantee the application of suitable control and prevention measures for information systems, protecting and providing reassurance to both Bankia and its customers. Obtaining the ISO 2007 certification involves an exhaustive review of 133 technology-related controls, divided into 11 categories, covering various issues from security policies to physical and environmental security, together with organisational and information-related aspects.
